As technology advances, systems are transitioning from paper-based methods to information systems and, ultimately, to Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems. AI is often discussed in computer science about machine learning and deep learning. These areas involve the development of AI algorithms inspired by human decision-making processes. Such algorithms can "learn" from data and progressively improve their accuracy in classification and prediction tasks over time (What Is Artificial Intelligence (AI)? | IBM, n.d.). Incorporating AI into systems enables additional functionalities such as facial recognition, voice recognition, photo tagging, loan approvals, targeted online advertisements, language translation, and self-driving cars (Andrew Ng, 2016). Despite AI's powerful capabilities, it faces several challenges, including data labelling, acquiring extensive training datasets, issues with explainability, generalizability of learning, and biases in data and algorithms. Although these limitations exist, continuous advancements in AI technology address these challenges, allowing for more widespread and effective use. The project title for this Final Year Project (FYP) is "Smart School Management System Featuring AI Chatbot and Smart Attendance." Given the capabilities of AI, many schools are beginning to integrate AI into their management systems. This integration aims to personalize learning journeys, enhance communication and engagement, and facilitate data driven decision-making. Two categories of functions are covered by the "Smart School Management System Featuring AI Chatbot and Smart Attendance": frontend and backend functions. The backend component serves the primary function of facilitating effective system management for administrators. Users are redirected to a special admin page that is different from the normal user experience when they log in with an admin email. A variety of tools and features created specifically for system administration are available through this specialized admin interface. In addition to managing user accounts by adding, removing, and updating profiles, administrators can also extend the functionality of the system by adding new feature.
